Sonic Heroes Emerald challenges were tough (especially that yellow Emerald), but it was made a little easier by using Team Rose to unlock it (shorter levels, and easier at that). At least with Sonic CD, there was a payoff with the good ending.) Without Super Sonic, it just never felt worth the effort to try. I had more trouble with the Sonic 1 stages (mostly cause I seldom bothered with them. (#5 is rough because the rings are in those stupid pyramid formations, and #6 is rough because of the high ring requirements and those boulders. I've actually gotten all 7 Emeralds in S2 before even hitting the Chemical Plant, but you're right, it is a pain in the neck.Įspecially when you hit half-pipes #5 and #6. Ursprungligen skrivet av Star-X:Sad thing is, it's the opposite way for me. I´ll give it a try with a good D-pad to see if there is a diference. In the original hardware I was able to get most of them, but with the modern analog sticks I seem to find it a bit harder.or I´m just rusty. It´s still hard when levels go very fast but it still gives you a bit of time to 'plan you turn'.Īlso, try making 'routes' to finish the levels, when you have played them a lot you will begin to recognize them by how the blue shperes are layed out and once you finish them following a pattern, unless you mess up, they should easily be finished repeating the same route. I press left/right on my analog little before as soon as I land on a blue sphere for turning. As ZetrocTgs says a good trick is to press the direction you want to turn before Sonic reaches the corner of a square, think as if the level is a grid of squares (well, it actually is, heheh) and if you press a direction between squares sonic will not turn untill the edge of it. Ursprungligen skrivet av ZetrocTgs:As for Blue Spheres itself is just a matter of getting used to. Sega, if you rerelease it, please add official savestates!)

(also I'd honestly kill for savestates for the PC release of desperately needs em. The Advance games were frickin brutal in terms of both accessing and clearing special stages, Sonic Heroes was a nightmare to clear in every mode, Shadow required over 300 runthroughs to 100% completely, getting all 180 emblems in Adventure 2 was almost impossible, some of Adventure 1's 130 emblems and 60 missions were practically impossible.really S3's WAAAAAYYY easier to 100% than any of those. I'm amazed you 100%'d the modern sonic titles before S3 though.

Too bad the SCD special stages were frickin brutal in difficulty. Ironically CD copied S1's method, but thanks to having mmuch easier levels, clearing a stage with 50 rings was a cinch. It's VERY hard to hold onto 50 rings to the end of many of Sonic 1's unmodified zones, which means it's therefore quite difficult to get all 6 emeralds. Sonic 1's special stages meanwhile are fairly easy, but are made very hard by the 50 ring requirement at the end of the zone. Were it not for Sonic Classic Heroes having the ultraconvenient special stage select function I'd likely never get 100% for that game without massive savestate abuse. I have no idea how anyone can clear them reliably enough to have all 7 emeralds for more than just Metropolis Zone Act 3 at best, as they are FILLED with cheapass failure points and ring patterns that are insanely hard to manage without going below the required ring count. Sonic 2 special stages however are absolutely brutal.

S3 special stages I can usually clear without a sweat, not to mention how S3&K allows you to go back and get the emeralds you may have missed after clearing a save file via quickly zooming through AIZ Act 1 and/or MHZ Act 1 to the giant rings located very close, then using the level select code followed by Start+A to soft reset and get back to the menu upon clearing or failing an individual stage. Sad thing is, it's the opposite way for me.
